A closed corpus deserves a closed app
Roman mythology is not a news feed. The figures, their domains, their symbols and the stories attached to them were written down a very long time ago, and the job of an app is to present them clearly in two languages — not to fetch fresh ones weekly, not to grow a library behind a subscription, and not to require an account before it will show you anything.
Numenar therefore ships whole: every figure, both languages, the glossary, the matching game and the relationship map are compiled into the download. Nothing is fetched while you read, nothing unlocks later, and there is no price list inside the app because nothing in it is for sale.
Entries describe a mythology and the scholarship around it. Where accounts differ between sources — and for Rome they often do — the app says so rather than picking the tidiest version.

The gods of Rome watched over every hearth, harvest and battle. Numenar is an atmospheric guide to that mythology — the gods and goddesses, the heroes, and the creatures of the legends — each on its own page: who they were, the domains they ruled, their symbols and sacred things, the myths told about them, and their place in the Roman world.
Beyond reading there is play. A matching game pairs each god with a domain or a symbol, to be cleared card by card. And the pantheon itself can be traced: parents, partners and rivals mapped so the whole divine family is visible at a glance. Browse by nature — gods, heroes, creatures — search for anyone, bookmark what fascinates you, and open the glossary for the terms behind it all.
Why a pantheon is a web and not a tree
Twelve unnamed figures, with the names and the stories left in the app. Switch the three kinds of link on and off and watch the shape change — this is the geometry the map in Numenar has to deal with, and the reason a family tree is the wrong drawing for a mythology.
Descent alone makes a forest: every figure has exactly one path back up, and nothing closes on itself. This is the version that fits in a family tree — and it is the only version that does.
Twelve blank circles, no names, no domains, no symbols and no myths — this bench cannot tell you who anybody is. Numenar is the part that can, in English and Italian, entirely on your handset.
Who publishes it
CloudThorn Games is the app name used by B & A Consulting SRL, a company registered in Italy. The code, the artwork, both language versions, this website and the Google Play account are handled from one address in Milan.
An entry that reads oddly in Italian, a source you think we have read too freely, or a question about privacy — the mail reaches the person who wrote the app. Potete scriverci anche in italiano.
